What is a Dutch oven?
Typically made of cast iron, a Dutch oven is a heavy cooking pot with a tight-fitting lid. These versatile cooking pots can be used to prepare a variety of dishes either in the oven or on your stovetop.
What do you use a Dutch oven for?
Dutch ovens are commonly used to create slow-cooked meals. They are great for braising meat and preparing stews, soups, and chilis. Because it is made from such a durable material, a Dutch oven can also be used for deep frying.
What is the difference between enameled cast iron and cast iron?
The difference between enameled cast iron and cast iron cookware is its finish. Both types of cookware are constructed from durable cast iron, however, enameled cast iron cookware has a smooth enamel finish. This makes the cookware easier to care for. We offer enameled cast iron lasagna pans, multi-pots, baking dishes, and skillets.
What is pre-seasoned cookware?
If a piece of cookware has been pre-seasoned, a coating of wax or vegetable oil has been added to the piece to help prevent rust and give your cookware a nonstick surface. Usually, a pan is seasoned by baking a layer oil onto the cooking surface. Our pre-seasoned cookware already has that layer applied so they can be used right out of the box. We offer a variety of pre-seasoned baking dishes, muffin pans and skillets.
How do I care for cast iron cookware?
Your cast iron cookware can last for years if it is properly maintained. To clean your pan, rinse it under warm water while the pan is still warm. Use a brush or pan scraper to remove any stuck-on food. Dry the piece and then place it over a low heat. Add a teaspoon of oil across the cooking surface, this will help it maintain its seasoning. Avoid using metal utensils with your cookware and never soak it as this can damage its seasoning and cause it to rust.
Our cast iron cookware will soon be your favorite pots and pans to cook with. We offer a wide variety of pre-seasoned cookware pieces so you can prepare a number of mouth-watering meals. Whether you choose our durable cast iron or convenient enameled cast iron cookware, you're sure to see, and taste, a difference in your food.
